The Red Devil conquers by relentlessly pushing its power to the limit. Built on AMD's latest RDNA™ 3 architecture, PowerColor Red Devil RX 7900 XTX is armed with a silent but efficient cooling solution to deliver uncompromising performance and gaming experience. The Red Devil of this generation is designed based on the concept of Devil's Eye, its most frightening weapon that absorbs all lights in the underworld. The Red Devil came, the Red Devil saw, the Red Devil conquered.
PowerColor Red Devil RX 7900 XTX embraces an upgraded triple ringed-fan cooling solution (100 x 100 x 100mm), a set of 8 x 6f heatpipes running through the heatsink, and a sleek copper plate directly touching the GPU while covering VRAM to rapidly transfer the heat; it also utilizes high quality PCB that comes with the 12+3+2+2+2 phase VRM design, and DrMOS with IMON real-time digital monitoring built in, all together to guarantee the optimum cooling efficiency and stability when pushing to the limits. Red Devil is designed to seize every victory in the game.
We have increased the copper plate area to provide direct contact with the GPU while covering VRAM to increase the heat transfer threshold to the max. A large heatsink with vertical fins spaced closely is mounted on PCB and offers better heat-spread area and radiation, allowing airflow to disperse heat efficiently. A set of 8 x 6f nickel-plated copper heatpipes align closely above the PCB to more quickly and effectively transfer heat from the GPU and VRAM to the cooling array.
Red Devil adopts a 12+3+2 phase VRM design with DrMOS to power the GPU as well as an additional 2+2 phase specifically designated for the VRAM. New IMON technology monitors and reports the electric current and power consumption on each individual phase. By balancing the workload, the Red Devil ensures unparalleled stability and thermal protection during overclocking. In addition, high quality car-grade polymer capacitors features long-lasting durability and high conductivity lowers power loss during transmission. A premium 14-layer high TG PCB Board -including a 2 oz power layer- is utilized in the Red Devil RX 7900 XTX; a PCB such designed decreases signal loss during transmission: important especially for higher-end GPUs with increased demands for higher currents and stability.
For the price the switches are fine. Fairly smooth to type on, a low pitch switch. I "hard swapped" them and soldered them on to a keyboard PCB. On my first attempt I broke the PCB so had to unsolder them. I resoldered them to another board and they still worked okay. So hardy surviving a iron at max temp. Again for the price good for the beginner who is looking to solder switches.
The motherboard was dispatched straight away, everything worked straight out of the box, BIOS was up to date.
Even came with a pack of haribo.
Directions and manual clear and easy to follow with all the appropriate accessories. Made my first pc build easy especially with the pre installed io shield and wifi card.
The reality of switches is is not really the sound but the feel the is the key factor. Watching a You Tube video cannot help you with this. The switches are fine and diffuse the led lights making if softer. Service from orbit was first class.
Can't report on the 4090, hardly used it yet. As the other reviewer mentioned, definitely needs its anti-sag bracket, it's a monster! Easier to remove than I thought it would be and on my board it doesn't cover any of the headers, which is great, although you need to fit your SSDs first. Took ages to get the 12VPWR cable routed though.
Good service from Orbit :) Thanks.
Getting like 160 170od frames on 4k Res pretty much on cod forgot settings but think it's competitive
A good example of the AMD Radeon RX 6600 that is a solid and reliable performer.
Identical to the case fans supplied with the H7 Flow, so ideal for moving to a 3 fan setup on the front. Quiet and effective.
My friends were trying to persuade me that I should get a higher rated power supply, but I ignored them, since I knew this one would be fine for the job. While it would be nice for there to be a lower rated power supply with monitoring functionality, I'm not too bothered. At least this one was (in comparative terms) cheap.
It's so spacious and amazing, literally everything you could want from a case no issues other than the price, 100+ for a case is baffling to me but I will never need a case again with this durable case.
Super easy to install, drivers can be downloaded from the MSI website. Getting your RAM to it's advertised speed is easy just go into the bios and switch on the profile. First time having a board with WiFi and I must say I'm impressed with it, works well at my max speed (with VPN too). I reckon it's worth spending a little extra for this board, the nvme heatsinks and vrms are good and seem to keep everything running cool. When I upgrade to AM5 in a few years I will get the MAG tomahawk board too.
Believe the partpicker hype this case is a breeze to build in and looks pretty nice too, though I definitely recommend buying a few extra fans (beQuiet! silent fans are good for the low noise). Hadn't heard of Orbit before I saw them listed on UK partpicker but they delivered my order to an Island within two days & all components are working fine (and I'm a totally amateur builder haha). IMO they are just as good if not better than Overclockers without the ridiculous pricing. Highly recommend.
Wasn't expecting that much since it was under £250 but I've been able to run Cyberpunk at 1080p 60 FPS, Ultra settings with raytracing off. Temps are pretty good too I think the highest I've seen it go in HWinfo is 65°. Definitely worth it if you still game at 1080p.
I wanted a processor which would be good for audio production and occasional gaming and I've been perfectly happy with this. CPU came in perfect condition and temps have been kept low with a phantom spirit cooler. If I need an upgrade in the future I'll get an AM5 chip 👍
I bought this mount as I didn’t want a 90 degree power connector as I’d heard they melt down on 4090 gpu’s. Feels quite sturdy and a good size for a 4090.
