With the Phanteks NV9 case, there is no limit on what gaming PC you could build. The enlarged size in comparison to previous models allows the NV9 to facilitate larger hardware, such as a 280mm wide E-ATX motherboard, or a powerful 490mm long GPU. The NV9 is also equipped with subtle RGB lighting around the motherboard tray, creating a picture frame like effect. Alongside the exceptional aesthetics, the Phanteks NV9 features phenomenal cooling potential, as it provides mounting options for three radiators simultaneously or up to twelve 120mm fans.

MORE SPACE TO SHOW OFF

The Phanteks NV Series is perfect for displaying your prized hardware in style, and the NV9 PC case offers so much more room. Standing at 615mm tall, 280mm wide, and 575mm deep, the Phanteks NV9 is an impressive case to behold. Thanks to its size, the Phanteks NV9 can accommodate even larger components than ever before. Within the spacious main compartment, you can mount a wide variety of motherboards, including Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX, ATX, E-ATX, and SSI-CEB models. Alongside this, you also have plenty of room for the largest of GPUs, as the NV9 has 8 PCIe expansion slots and can accommodate graphics cards that are 490mm long and 205mm wide. What’s more, the seamless dual tempered glass panels provide a clear view of all your gaming components.

The PSU shroud is used to frame the motherboard, helping draw the eye to your core components. The power supply mount has been moved to the top of the case, whilst the motherboard tray is situated in the middle. To help the framing effect, the shroud boasts a D-RGB lighting strip along its bottom edge. This dedicated space can facilitate power supplies measuring up to 210mm long and provides plenty of room for managing cables for a clean build.

A BUILDER’S DREAM

Whatever components you choose to install within the NV9, the building experience will be enjoyable. This is thanks to the innovations Phanteks has incorporated within this case. To begin with the motherboard tray has been located at the centre of the case. By moving the motherboard here, you have better access to all the headers on the board and more clearance from the top-mounted radiators.

Alongside this, the Phanteks NV9 has removable brackets for cooling hardware. Located at the base and side of the case, these brackets allow you to configure your cooling solution as well as manage any cables, before being simply being slotted back into place once done.

The innovations stretch beyond what you can see, as the storage options of the NV9 have also been improved. Located at the back of the chassis, the cable cover door has been updated allowing for more configurations of storage drives. Up to six drives can be mounted at the same, either arranged as two 2.5" SSD and three 3.5" HDDs or four 2.5" SSD and two 3.5" HDDs.

SUPERIOR COOLING

In addition to their phenomenal aesthetics, the Phanteks NV9 provides excellent cooling potential. To start with, this case can support a wide range of radiators, with the option to have multiple models installed simultaneously. At the top of the case, there is room for either a 360mm or 420mm radiator, and this is mirrored at the bottom of the case which can also support the same radiator sizes. Meanwhile, using the side bracket, you can install a 420mm or a 480mm radiator. On the rear panel, there is room for a radiator measuring 240mm or 280mm.

Alongside radiators, the Phanteks NV9 can facilitate multiple fans at the same time. In fact, a total of 12 fans can be installed at the simultaneously. Much like its radiator support, the NV9 can support identical fans at the top and bottom, with room for three 120mm or 140mm fans. Using the side bracket, you can install four 120mm or three 140mm fans. Finally, there is space at the rear of the case for two fans and is compatible with both 120mm and 140mm models.

I can’t recommend this case for everyone

This case is for intermediate-advanced users when it comes to setting-up. What also makes it worse is phanteks forcing its users to adapt to their use of non-universal control hubs and drgb. Setting up the rgb on this system is an absolute nightmare and Phanteks knows this, just visit the forums/reddit etc. I purchased the rgb kit and controller only to find that I had to contact Phanteks immediately for an RMA to be issued an updated controller as rgb’s aren’t working correctly atm.

So I’m sure everyone already knows how good this case is, it’s just a shame Phanteks have made it difficult to work alongside competing brands.
